Thailand is one of my favorite countries in the world for many reasons. Besides the delicious cuisine, friendly people, interesting culture, this country has some really awesome places to vacation. Over the years, Jason and I have visited numerous islands and beaches throughout the country. In this video, I highlight 9 key places to visit in Thailand! Every place is characterized by its unique atmosphere and activities. Whether you are into rock climbing, scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming, or just relaxing on a beautiful beach, Thailand has something for everyone!
I would have thought that skydiving from 14 000 ft, scuba diving with sharks, or surfing with large waves, might have been one of my scariest adventures. However, it was bungee jumping that I have found the scariest.
In Inje, South Korea, we decided to do our first ever bungee jump! The jump was only about 60 meters. I am not afraid of heights, so at the time I was just super excited to try this new adventure. I was told to walk off the ledge and just drop on the count of 3. Below me I could see nothing but water. It seemed like a fairly long way down. I told myself not to think about it too much and just do it! And that is exactly, what I did.
That’s me, doing my first bungee jump!

We did it!
Now, when I recall my experience, I keep thinking I cannot believe that I actually jumped. The scariest part is voluntarily stepping over the ledge and losing all control. Interestingly, bungee jumping, has been the scariest yet most thrilling adventure for me!
Bungee jumping is really awesome fun and everyone should try it at least once. But now that I have experienced it, it is the one activity that I would honestly hesitate to do again. Why? The thought of jumping over a ledge and ending up upside down in the air is quite terrifying!
I never imagined my very first scuba diving experience would be in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest coral reef system! I remember, Jason and I explored the beautiful corals and aquatic life with 2 other divers and our dive master. We got a very quick introduction about how to dive. Before entering the waters, I wasn’t feeling absolutely confident about my diving abilities so I felt nervous. But yet, I was also excited because this was going to be a new adventure!
The experience of seeing the underwater world for the very first time was absolutely incredible! I remember my senses being so captivated by the numerous colorful fish and corals. I had entered this amazing new world. I truly felt time had stopped, and nothing else mattered except my curiosity for this fascinating aquatic world. I was so present. In fact, I was so enthralled by the underwater life, that I actually lost sight of all the other divers for a brief moment.
When I realized I was alone, I strangely felt pleased at first. I was thrilled that I was all alone enjoying and appreciating the beauty of marine life. However, when I started feeling disoriented in this enchanting but foreign world, I felt a pang of panic. My heavy breathing began affecting my buoyancy and from somewhere my vigilant dive master quickly arrived to help me.
The rest of the dive was smooth sailing. So, that was my first scuba diving experience. I will always remember that brief but special moment, when I was all alone in the world’s largest coral reef system!
